Car insurance documents lost????? help please?????

it's now been 31 days since i accepted a car policy with a car insurance company. they requested to see origianal copy my proof of No Claims Bonus.

I sent this document last week. today i have receievd a letter from the insurance company stating that if i do not send the original documents. they will cancel my policy as soon as possiable.

they send to me over the phone send the photocopy, which i have made.

my question to you is how do i explain the above situation in a form of a letter?

what shall i start off? how do say i enclose a photocopy of the of claims bonus?

Insurers will always want the original document to prevent anyone from using the No Claims Bonus on another vehicle. They would never ask to see an original copy as this would be impossible for you to produce. It's either a copy or the original. Depending on the company you have taken the insurance out with, they may be prepared to call your last insurer to verify your bonus in the form of a telephone declaration. Any good Broker will do this for you as part of the service they offer to their customers - go direct and you have nobody independent to help you with this situation.

Quote your policy number and they'll put it together. Keep a copy of the copy in case they lose what you send now too.
you need to call them and talk to somebody. have your account number ready. maybe the letter you mailed and the one you received today have crossed in the mail, and they already got your copy.
Just tell it like it is. Start at the beginning, tell them what you've done (in the order that you did it), and finish "please find enclosed a copy of my proof of no claims bonus".

Keep it brief and to the point.

Thank you,

I tkae it they wanted your policy from your last insurer, which you sent but they claim they never recieved it. I would call and speak to a Customer Service Representative and confirm that they do not actually have the policy (it may have crossed in the mail). If the person confirms they do not have it, explain the situation and ask if you can fax the copy that you made to their office. If they say you can then ask for the name of someone who you can put on the fax header as being the recipient. That way, hopefully, the person picking it up at the fax machine will take it directly to them, instead of it getting put on a pile somewhere.
Next time you send an original document, send it registered mail with the return recipt requested option.
