Online insurance agent?

does anyone know if there are insurance companies that let insurance agents work from home or a private office? i want to be an agent but i want to work at home or in my own office. all input is appreciated.

It is possible. Our agency has one person that works out of her home or her lake home and does all of our paperwork. She stops in about 1-2 times a week and picks everything up and does all the rest with reports that she is able to generate. I know a producer who works for a large agency and her office is in her house. It is going to depend on the agency that you work for. Everyone else in our agency comes into the office but is able to work remotely from home if needed.
No..
Sentry insurance out of WI has agents who are given office equipment and expected to maintain a home office. As far as being an "online" agent, not sure what you mean; Sentry people and most insurance agents are expected to travel and find business.
If your plan is to sit at home and allow the web to bring stuff to you, good luck; you'll limit the types of insurance you can sell and have to compete with the GEICOs of the world for business.
There probably won't be any that do this on a blanket basis but you may be able to work it out with an individual agency or company. If you are a producer with an agency, your job will be spent 90% outside the office, not sure if your looking for more of a sales position or a service position. Service positions would be difficult to set up for you at home, the company would have to take additional expense to have calls forwarded to you as well as the hassle of not being able to keep an eye on the amount of work your doing.

Good luck!
